A honlap az MTA Bolyai János Kutatási Ösztöndíj három éves támogatásával megvalósított A Viktoriánus fantasztikum posztmodern konfigurációi. Lewis Carroll képszövegvilágának metamediális aspektusai című kutatási projekt keretében jött létre. (2014.09.01.-2018.04.30.)
A honlap gondozója Kérchy Anna, a Szegedi Tudományegyetem Angol-Amerikai Intézetének oktatója, az irodalom- és kultúratudományok doktora, habilitált egyetemi docens. Kutatási területei között szerepel a a Viktoriánus és a posztmodern képzelet metszéspontjainak vizsgálata, kulturális reprezentációk intermediális aspektusainak elemzése, a gyermek és ifjúsági irodalom illetve a fantasztikus fikció tanulmányozása.
Az online felület célja digitális adatbázis létrehozása Lewis Carroll műveinek, adaptációinak, kritikáinak egybegyűjtésével — különös hangsúlyt helyezve az Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland és annak folytatása, a Through the Looking Glass című nonszensz meseregények magyar recepciójának, fordításainak, illusztrációinak, feldolgozásainak bemutatására, illetve az angol/magyar, kép/szöveg, Viktoriánus/posztmodern jelentésvetületeket egybevető komparatív megközelítés alkalmazására.
